FOREVER

PROJECT SLATE

Below is a set of projects we're currently developing. We'll update their status as and when things change. You may be interested in joining us for one of these projects when you sign up. We prefer to create real projects for anyone training rather than purely giving student exercises and we intent to create paid opportunities for former student where we can.

Electronic Haven

Project type: Music Oral Heritage/Documentary/Exhibition
Status: Development ahead of grant funding

We explore the creation and culture surrounding the UK music scene, through in-depth interviews with the people who were there. Why did the scene become such a place for those that didn't fit into mainstream culture and why did it become so influential given it's underground routes? Why has it been such an important space for excluded groups? Let's find out.

The project will collect oral histories from surviving artists, promoters and fans from the late 70s to the early 90s. This will be screened as a documentary, as well as being turned into an exhibition event.

If you'd like to get involved and speak to us on camera as a contributor, you can sign up here.

Factual Fundamentals

Project type: Training courses

Status: Development ahead of grant funding

To compliment our oral histories and documentary work, we'll be offering training to those who often get overlooked for work in filmmaking. Rather than teach everything needed to make every kind of film, we'll focus down on the essential skills needed for factual production.

We'll be splitting the training in several ways - we'll have modules for production as well a module on post-production. Given the computing costs in running the post-production module this will be more limited in-person training until we can offer it in combination with access to laptops. The production module will be created and optimised to work for in-person, webinar and online self-paced learning - allowing us to make our course more accessable.

Filmmaking Fundamentals

Project type: Book

Status: Currently being written

Duncan is currently downloading all his practical filmmaking knowledge ahead of being able to develop some of the courses we'll run. It will take a long time to deliver all of this knowledge as a course, so Duncan will put this down in one place as a book which will give to those qualifying for our free course support as well as selling this to fund our other non-profit activities.

Secret Horror Project

Project type: Movie

Status: Development

Duncan keeps saying he would like to make a horror film, as a fun way to run a commercially viable project that would work well for training. We don't know if any grants will like this idea, so we may just find a way to produce it anyway. Having a more commercially viable project will be a great way to create real opportunities and bring in further funding for future non-profit endevours.

Details will be under wraps until we're in a position to talk more openly about it. It is very likely to be a very small, all female cast set in just a few locations.
