Factual Fundamentals
(Waiting list, pending funding)
This course is currently pending confirmation of grant funding. You're very welcome to sign up to registered your interest and we'll let you know when we're in a position to get you started. Currently we are aiming our plans for Monday 15 February to Friday 19 February 2027 for the acredited course. We may also run a pilot before then also subject to funding, but we won't be able to promise accreditation.
Course description: To compliment our oral histories and documentary work, we'll be offering training to those who often get overlooked for work in filmmaking. Rather than teach everything needed to make every kind of film, we'll focus down on the essential skills needed for factual production.
We'll be splitting the training in several ways - we'll have modules for production as well a module on post-production. Given the computing costs in running the post-production module this will be more limited in-person training until we can offer it in combination with access to laptops. The production module will be created and optimised to work for in-person, webinar and online self-paced learning - allowing us to make our course more accessible. We're aiming to qualify as a CPD UK accredited course should we obtain our requested grant funding.
